Hope that's the case. They don't play SD in the regular season, so this should be a better indication. Hopefully a positive one too.

The preseason record is meaningless. If they pull this crap in the regular
season, that's another story. But there are still 3 games left to get the
jitters worked out. Rex has a history of having jitters early and working
them out.

Like I said, the sample is small, but if you look at his 2003 stats:
QB rating game one: 60
QB rating game two: 91
Game 3: Rating of 65, but left with injury early - low rating mostly because
he didn't throw for a TD)
Completion percentage game 1: 43%
Completion Percentage game 2: 59%
Completion Percentage game 3: 60%
Then 2004:
Game 1 rating: 43
Game 2 rating: 74
Game 3 rating: 92
Game 1 Comp %: 46%
Game 2 Comp %: 56%
Game 3 Comp %: 68%
It's obvious that Rex gets a little too pumped up for games when he hasn't
played consecutively and once he get's hit a few times, he calms down and
plays damn well.

Well just remember last year or 2 years ago I think it was the Colts lost
all their games in preseason and then dominated so......
I also don't think we were running much of anything from our books because
we play them in the regular season! That might have added to the confusion!
