Subject: [CBFF] From MNF to DWI

Speaking of the MNF broadcast, I listened to the crew talk - during
the game between the Vikes and the Raiders - about how Robinson has
cleaned-up his drinking problem and turned-over a new leaf.

Opps.

Vikings WR Robinson arrested for possible DWI
Associated Press

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings receiver Koren Robinson, who was
cut by the Seattle Seahawks last year because of drinking and other
problems, was in jail Wednesday on suspicion of drunken driving, a
newspaper reported.

Sgt. Loren Jansen of the St. Peter Police Department told the St. Paul
Pioneer Press that Robinson was arrested around 10:46 p.m. Tuesday for
"driving while impaired."

A dispatcher at the Nicollet County sheriff's department confirmed to
The Associated Press that Robinson was still in county jail Wednesday
morning but would not provide further information.

Jansen told the newspaper that multiple charges were pending, but a
police report had not been filed yet.

"I won't be able to tell you a lot, other than that he was arrested
for driving while impaired," Jansen told the Pioneer Press, "and he is
incarcerated at this time."

The newspaper said Vikings officials and Robinson's agent, Alvin
Keels, could not be reached for comment early Wednesday morning.

Robinson was arrested on his way back to the Vikings' training camp at
Minnesota State University, Mankato. Players were expected to report
back to their dorm by 11 p.m.

Robinson, 26, is in his second season with the Vikings. He emerged as
the team's most dangerous receiver last season and made his first trip
to the Pro Bowl, as a kick returner. The Vikings rewarded him with a
new three-year contract in March that included $5.5 million in
guaranteed money.

He spent 28 days in an alcohol treatment facility last year after
being cut by the Seahawks. He was in treatment during training camp
last season and signed with the Vikings shortly after checking out.

In July, Robinson said in an interview with the AP that he knew he'd
always be under scrutiny as a recovering alcoholic. He acknowledged
that he was taking some relapse prevention classes in preparation for
the NFL season, when he said he would have little time to work on
maintaining his recovery.
