This is just a guess but I'm going to say that was probably a set play.
Grossman's mistake wasn't in throwing into double coverage. It was in
throwing the ball to a spot where the defenders could catch it.
Most of Grossman's balls were catchable but given that they hadn't been
particularly accurate, I'd say it wasn't a great call. Not sure if that
makes it better or not but that was my read on it.
