[CBFF] Bears' patience under center the right move

Here is what everyone must consider - is Brian Griese a better QB than
Rex Grossman? There is no doubt that RG8 is struggling mightily right
now, but then again how many other QBs in the NFL have their team in
the playoffs already? NONE. How many NFL QBs have 10 wins right now?
JUST GROSSMAN AND SOME GUY NAMED PEYTON MANNING. I think that that
pretty much sums up his body of work this season.
Do his turnovers worry me? YES. Do they worry the coaching staff? Of
course they do, alot more than they worry any fan. But as bad as Rex
has been the last couple of weeks Griese must be equally unimpressive
(or more so) in practice to not even get a look. I'll trust the
coaches instincts and experience there.
Could his tendency to have off games and propensity for turnover cost
this team dearly in the playoffs? Yes, but that is true of any QB.
Heck remember back when the Ravens had a dominant defense and solid
running game, they had a QB by the name of Trent Dilfer (now a 49er
backup QB) who ran an offense that didn't produce a TD for what 7
straight games? They won the freakin' SB that season. Their staff
didn't yank Dilfer b/c they didn't need him to be an all-world QB.
Just as the Bears don't need Grossman to be an all-pro under center.
He just needs to manage the game, and that's what this staff will have
him concentrating on going forward w/ the division crown already
signed, sealed and delivered.
Yes he was 3-19 for 34 yds. and 3 picks, but you know what? It was
good enough to win the game and the division. One goal down, many more
to go. It should be cause for celebration for Bears fans - WE ARE THE
NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS!!! This team appears headed for home field
advantage throughout the playoffs - that means teams will have to come
into frigid Soldier Field, snow and ice! That is a heckuva advantage
not to mention the rowdy crowds and hostile environment that will be
created (if we can get off of Rex's back already!)
It's a day for celebration not bickering!!!
