[CBFF] Bears' patience under center the right move

I think you're misrepresenting things a little.

Griese was drafted to be the next QB after Elway and
turned out to be average - he was replaced with
Plummer because Jake had more mobility and Griese had
some early problems in Denver.

Miami was still trying to replace Marino when Griese
went there and people still remembered his father.
Again, Griese was average and the fans couldn't accept
that.

His departure from Tampa was caused by an injury and
subsequent anointing of Simms as the QBotF. Since
Gradkowski was briefly anointed QBotF when he played
well immediately after Simms ruptured his spleen I
have to assume that the franchise is currently
experiencing a lot of the troubles that the Bears went
through in the latter 90s/early 2000. They need a QB,
but none of the ones are good enough and they would
rather see the potential than another average or below
average QB.

The Bears have had very few average QBs. I'm not sure
if Griese would be the answer, but I have to think he
should be ready at any time to save the Bears' season.
