[CBFF] Bears still have time, but not much margin for error (Wojciechowski, ESPN)

I just think it's hypocritical if they release him and talk about character when they stood by Ricky Manning and Olin Kreutz. Both of those guys have had issues in the past, so it's really not different from this. The only thing that might be different is that Lovie talked to Tank and wanted him to adjust things after the gun incident and Tank apparently didn't listen. The issue then, is not about character but about discipline and listening to the coach/organization.

Yeah. Well, I've got to admit that I'm uncomfortable kicking the guy to the
curb. Guns without the right paper work? It isn't like he shot somebody,
himself. From the description of the incident he was practically a
bystander. At minimum it sounds like it was a very minor incident until the
"bodyguard" jumped in and started swinging.
I'm not saying there isn't fault here. To an extent he's a victim of
circumstance but they are circumstances he created. The guy made some lousy
decisions, no doubt. But I'm not too comfortable taking a guys livelihood
away over any of it. I'm guessing they want to suspend him without pay the
rest of the year and probably the playoffs but they want to keep him in the
organization. I hope so anyway.
