Brad Johnson.  Warner.  Fielder.  Any of these guys would have been fine and
probably only really required a slim chance to compete.

But that story's over with the signing of Griese who I think is a better
candidate than any of those three were.  The problem now is that
statistically the Bears have under performing receivers and they are once
again assuming that everything will fall into place and they will be OK.  I
think it's arrogant to be so sure of yourself that you don't have a fall
back position.  I just think they should have hedged their bets.
