He gets 1700 only if Jones isn't playing, I think.

Yeah, in Jones' case, it's a legitimate threat but he's so stubborn he's not
going to show for anything voluntary regardless.  I think Briggs knows it's
an empty threat.  I don't think Leon Joe has it.

I doubt that anyone really believes the Bears can squeeze these guys into
voluntary workouts.  If it was a message to anyone it was probably to the
rest of the team.  "They weren't here.  You were.  Here's your chance.  Go
for it."
