Yeah, I'm not sure why they didn't get the deal with Briggs done already.

Rosenhaus himself said that they were actually NOT asking for more than
Urlacher.  If that's so, find a price somewhere between what you're offering
and he's asking and sign him.

Having Briggs and Urlacher signed in perpetuity would cement two foundation
stones of the defense long term.  Plug in even a descent guy in the third LB
slot--either Hunter Hillenmeyer or the guy they just drafted, Jamar
Williams--and you could rival, IMO, the most dominant LB trio in NFL
history--Singletary-Marshall-Wilson.
