Why not is that if he's to the point of a mini holdout, he's not going to 
take an extension like Alfonso Boone got or even one like Mike Green got. 
We're getting into Azumah territory and beyond, and they have a little 
problem with Lance Briggs that might take a big chunk of the salary cap.

I don't buy the one-year deal thing, either. Like Ross said, you have to get 
something for tearing up the contract, and that's at least one extra year. 
Tom Brady is a bit more of an extreme example. You CAN'T give a starting QB 
minimum unless you pulled him off the junk heap and he's playing by default. 
You don't sub those guys in and out.
