Mark Bradley
WR | (6'1", 201, 4.4) | OKLAHOMA
Scouts Grade: 74
Flags: (M: MENTAL) Does not retain and learn the system
Strengths: Has an impressive combination of size, speed and athletic
ability. Is quick and fast. Shows good initial burst and top-end
speed. Is a vertical threat with the acceleration to get over the top
of man-to-man coverage. Is difficult to press at the LOS because of
size, strength and speed. Has some elusiveness after the catch. Shows
a second gear in the open field. Has good body control and balance.
Will make some spectacular plays on the ball in the air. Has
explosiveness as a return specialist.
Weaknesses: Lacks ideal experience as a WR at the DI-A level. Is
somewhat unpolished as a route runner. Needs to become more consistent
in terms of the crispness of his routes. He played in a
receiver-friendly wide-open system at Oklahoma, where he didn't get
much attention opposite Mark Clayton and Brandon Jones. Hands are a
bit inconsistent. Lets the ball get into his body too often and he
sometimes tries to get upfield before securing it. Mental capacity a
concern; scored an 11 on Wonderlic Test.
Overall: Bradley began his career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, where he was
a two year starter at wide receiver, KOR and PR. He did suffer an ACL
injury five games into his sophomore season in 2001 and sat out the
2002 season while transferring. Bradley played in all 12 games as a
junior in 2003 for Oklahoma and contributed as a WR (averaged 17.6
yards on 11 receptions with two TD's) and RS (averaged 35.3 yards on
seven KOR with one TD). Bradley played in all 13 games and started
four in 2004, averaging 21.3 yards on 23 receptions with seven TD's.
He also averaged 19.6 yards on 12 KOR's. Bradley is a player on the
rise. He had by far his best season as a senior in 2004 and he also
had an impressive workout at the combine. Bradley is a late bloomer
with a lot of upside because of his outstanding combination of size,
speed and athletic ability. He also has some versatility as a kickoff
return specialist. Bradley is a bit unpolished as a route runner and
he needs to become more consistent catching the football but his
upside is intriguing. In our opinion, Bradley is worth gambling on
late on Day 1 and would be a steal if he fell to the second day of the
draft.
