Lions lose two offseason days after NFLPA complaint

Associated Press

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions will forfeit two days of their
offseason training program after settling a complaint by the NFL Players
Association.

In a joint statement released Friday, Harold Henderson, NFL executive vice
president for labor relations, and NFLPA executive director Gene Upshaw said
the team broke rules pertaining to the scheduling of offseason activities.

Lions spokesman Matt Barnhart would not elaborate on the violation.

Players no longer will be required to attend previously scheduled workouts
on Monday and Tuesday but will be paid for them. Offseason workouts will
resume Thursday.
