I doubt it's quite so nefarious as that. Radio producers know when they've 
got something, and North's Limbaughesque obnoxiousness draws people who love 
and people who hate, and anyone who goes with him is just the backup 
singers. They'll do whatever they have to to find the right harmony for that 
hideous, lucrative cacophony.
