I could not agree more. I sent the following email to Mr. Johnson shortly
after reading this story:

Dear Mr. Johnson, 


I find it bothersome that you gave credit to profootballtalk.com for
breaking a story indicating that Bobby DePaul is being considered for the
position of GM for the Texans. 


The problem is that PFT has continually reported stories that are, at best,
based upon circumstantial evidence. The number of reports that have appeared
on this site and been confirmed to be true are, by journalistic standards,
minimal to say the least. 


I realize that a league source did confirm this story and I by no means have
a problem with the article. I also have no problem with crediting a website
with the story. What I do have a problem with is crediting a source with
breaking the story which does not come up to your own high journalistic
standards and that of your peers. This appears to give the site a legitimacy
which it by no means has been proven to deserve
