[CBFF] CBFF Blog: "Arrogant" Angelo Laughs Last

As much credit Angelo deserves for hiring Lovie (and there should be tons),
you have to temper that with the knowledge that Angelo first offered up the
most prestigious NFL coaching job to Nick Saban, who, lucky for us, took a
pass on coaching our Bears. (Hey, I wanted Saban at the time as well. I
aint say'n... I'm just say'.)
At this point in time, the key issues are weighing on Angelo's approval
rating:

1) Not having Lovie resigned; Depending on how much Lovie feels
disrespected at not getting offered a contract extension last year, I feel
there's a reasonable possibility that he walks after this season. There
will be plenty of team willing to pay more that what Angelo will offer him
this off season.

2) Same goes for Briggs. I've already seen mention that Briggs intends to
walk at the end of the season. I think Angelo should have tried harder to
sign him last year, and probably won't even come close this off season.

3) Is Angelo's personality type such that it will make negotiation with
Drew Rosenhaus - and the several players he has playing with the Bears
- practically impossible? My fear is that negotiations could very well turn
ugly, and if they do for one, they might for all. Will angelo just think
that he's good enough to just go out and replace these guys instead of
paying for them? I think that's a possibility.

Those are my main worries / issues as it pertains to Angelo... but, IMO,
they're substantial and looming just beyond the afterglow of this season.
