Well, that's a good point. I guess I was assuming that his contract was up
at the end of this year.... Don't know why I had that stuck in my cranium.
If he does have one more year, then obviously, that's a horse of a different
color.

And if Lovie isn't complaining about the whole salary issue (and he doesn't
> seem to be, publicly) how do you know he'll feel disrespected?

Let me go check the tape.... Now I said 'depending on how much he feels
disrespected'.... 'Maybe none' to all the way to 'maybe alot'. Again,
assuming this is his last year, which I was, to take a team with a rookie
QB to 11-5 having so much of that due to coaching (I know, it didn't hurt to
have a great defense) and to basically be told ' Naw, I think we'll wait and
allow you to continue to be paid the lowest salary in the entire league for
a head coach'. What does that tell you about how mngt truly feels about
Lovie's coaching abilities? At the very least,it tell me that they still
don't believe in him. This league is all about 'show me the money'...
salaries are used to show how much an organization values it players and
coaches. His Salary is LAST in the league. I thinking he might feel a bit
disrespected.

And if there's one thing we know about Lovie, he's not going to talk about
something like that to the media or his players or anyone else except his
closest friends and family.

Since coaches don't count against the salary cap, I imagine the Bears would

Matt, I know things have changes since the 'nickles were flying around like
manhole covers', but it's still the Bears ownership.... Hope I'm wrong,
probably am....
