Yesterday felt a lot like the playoff loss last year.

We came out flat, self-satisfied, I believe. Tommie Harris somewhat
confirms that suspicion in the papers this morning. You had the feeling
that they were starting to believe their own press. This team still does
not understand that 16 games of 4 quarters each, with every play counting,
is what it means to be excellent in the NFL. We are not (yet) excellent,
though I hope the humiliating loss causes us to get back to what got us 7
wins.

Like the playoff loss last year, it was a total team defeat. I saw so many
botched plays. The turnovers were indicative of a team who was not mentally
in the game. And I am mystified why, when Rex starts to get that glazed
over look of frustration on his face, why don't we see the coaching staff in
his face, telling him to chill. He takes himself mentally out of the game
and reverts to high schoolish technique.
