[CBFF] Bad Decision To Go For the FG???

I have no problem with that call. It was 4th & 6, and our offense kept
bogging down inside the 20. Had it been 4th & 2 or less ,I might have gone
for it. Coming away with no points would have been a killer after a drive
like that .. At that point in the game.

Subject: [CBFF] Bad Decision To Go For the FG???

I'm still a little surprised there hasn't been more talk about the decision
to kick the FG with 5 minutes and some odd seconds remaining instead of
trying for the first down on, what? 4th and 4 or 5? This decision, more
than any other, worries me about our ability to make the right call in
crucial situations (and there have been others). This probably flies under
the radar because our defense forced and unlikely T.O. (instead of the
opponents going 3 and out the coaches were expecting). But we got the ball
back and Rex throws the stupid pick, which redirects attention and
discussion towards that.

But come on... you have to go for the First down and continue to drive for
the tying TD. If you're going to depend on your defense to win the game,
you do it in possible O.T., or at the very worst, you don't score, you run
out of downs, and you have the opponents backed up where the defense can
maybe tee off a little. It was pretty obvious that Brady was hot and he was
going to move the ball if he got it back... it was to me.

Kicking the FG and being down by 4 points still means the Bears offense,
which was struggling in the second half (to put it mildly) had to drive the
length of the field for a touchdown anyway.

You need a TD, one way or another... you're at their doorstep... you show
some balls and go for it. Very disappointing call and the worst one of the
game.
