[CBFF] Bears place Brown on injured reserve

It's not about the plays he makes (although they ARE pretty sweet: all those TDs, and that hit on Marcus Pollard in game 2 last year?), it's about the intangibles. Everybody on the D will tell you Mike Brown is the leader of the defense: a general who positions his troops around him accordingly. Mike is the oil in the defensive machine. And while Todd or Brandon or Chris might fill in adequately for the hitting, they can't make up for the loss of leadership. At least not yet.

I do not want to sound like an idiot(to late, I know), but Brown has not
made that many plays this year, and I do not think we will miss a beat.

I think people( Wr's/Off. Cord's) watching tape of T. Johnson's hit
Monday night might actually get a little more intimidated about going
over the middle, now then they were before.

Give Angelo credit, as someone else has observed, for knowing Browns
injury history, and drafting accordingly. We traded down, and took
Hester and Manning. Any other teams out there getting production like
that with their first two picks?
