There's been a pattern, Jerry. Offense, defense, offense, defense. JA
alternates every year. Last year was defense. Take a guess what's next?
And don't forget, Kiper knows JA and Gabriel very well.

I read this today on ESPN.com:

-----------------------------------------
Mark Chicago, IL: Who do you think the Bears go after with their 1 &
2? Do you think they address DT with Tank Johnson looming suspension?

SportsNation Mel Kiper: That's an option they have with DT. If you
take a look at Chicago in the first round, WR. They went heavy defense
last year. I don't think they'll do that again. WR, maybe a Steve
Smith or Jarrett, if he's still on the board. Then they have an early
second rounder and they pick 37. Zach Miller would be a possibility at
TE. If they trade Briggs, they'll have another need at LB.
-----------------------------------------

I disagree with Mel. I think Jerry Angelo is going to repeat last
years' draft formula and what has really been his modus operandi; he's
going to use those first two picks on defense. My guess is a DT and a
CB. 'Guess' is the operative word in that statement, but I just don't
see Jerry taking any offense that high. It's a win-now-or-never
league and with the Bears still in that "window", he's going to go
after players who he can plug in now, and that doesn't happen often on
offense.

Jerry
