[CBFF] Bears sign Chris Leak

Leak destroyed Ohio State, and it’s a little to early to tab him as a
bust as well.

 

As far as QB skills to be successful in the NFL, yes, Orton is clearly
in a different "class" than Leak. Leak is another in a long list of
college QBs who played on a team with great talent. Several of said
QBs won the Heisman and did nothing in the NFL.

As for Orton himself, I thought he did reasonably well considering he
was pressed into duty as a rookie and only had an average receiver
corp as his disposal. I won't go so far as to predict anything for him
down the road but it's a little premature to permanently affix a
"mediocre" label.
