[CBFF] Walker's Contract

I think you have to take this at face value. The Bears found themselves with
a problem at DT. DT is a position where you don't want any problems (ex:
last season). The Bears saw an opportunity to not only fix that problem,
but for a long time.

I don't think this has anything to do with Harris other than an insurance
policy in case Tommy goes down with an injury again. I've already heard
Lovie saying that Tommy is 'arguably the best player on the team'.....
Tommy will get his.

For years, didn't we look at some teams and wonder how the hell they
continually signed big contract players and still managed to stay within the
cap rules? I still don't know how they did it, and similarly, I don't know
how the Bears are doing it either. I do know this, though; I'm happy about
it and I trust Angelo and co. to make the right decisions.  And I know this;
all of the Viking and Packer fans I know, since the Bears signed Briggs,
since they've signed Walker, Since Hester's been spectacular, and since Rex
has look polished, they've quieted down considerably. I think they sense
the ass whoop'n their team will be receiving twice this year.

Let me ask all of you.... How long since we've felt this good about a Bears
team this early? On Both sides of the ball and special teams as well?
85? 86? Maybe.... maybe not even then.

ps...Start thinking about your picks for pro- bowlers and other
predictions. I'll be throwing out the poll soon... There may even
be prizes involved this year.
