Phil,
I think this guy may be better than Williams was. Not as good as Harris.
But maybe a lot better than Williams.
Steve,
I agree with you. It's for partly for depth. But another way of saying
that is if they lose Harris for any reason, not just injury, they'll still
have something there that they can rely on.
Chris,
I don't think we're talking about "a couple dollars". We're talking about
Drew Rosenhaus. If he thinks he's got you over a barrel, he'll try to blow
the market up.
I agree that you pay Harris, of course. He should almost certainly be the
highest paid DT in the league before he's done. But IMO you have to make
sure that you don't overpay because your situation demands it and you've got
no choice. Maybe above all you make sure you don't over pay because some
crazy idiot from another team gets a hard on for him and offers him the
world. You can't let other teams set your market. IMO you have to be ready
to let almost anyone go if the situation demands it.
