Good things from Bears camp:

Slow news day so far on Friday.

  G. Wolfe looking better working on the sidelines. Still slowed by a tight
hamstring, but working on the side... Good sign he is just a few days away.

The Bears web site main article: Brad Maynard is looking real good!

The Tribune article by Vaughn McClure on line is lauding the camp impressions
made so far by longshot Mike Hass.

WIth Hester resting a tight hamstring of his own, there is no huge alarm with his
situation, at least in any available news articles I have seen. If there was continued
talk, I would be more concerned about his missing work.

Hester and Olsen had been stealing the show.

  Other importants news and views:

Grossman has looked good. Confident and determined, making good reads when
the first and second choices are covered.

Bernard Berrian is getting deep consistently against the first team defense.
More of a testament to how well the offense is performing, rather than a
  knock on the defense.

In previous years, we have been all too accustomed to the defense being way
ahead of the offense during training camp.

Kyle Orton has been impressive in camp, making a statement he isn't just
banking on holding a clipboard this year.

The safeties have looked good. So good the Bears decided they had enough
depth that Chris Harris wasn't going to see a lot of field action, which allowed
the Bears an opportunity to move him for a second day pick next year, when
the Bears will need to stockpile picks for an aging OL.

Beson has looked faster this year and more determined.

Speaking of Vaughn McClure.... I will be interviewing Vaughn for BearsTalkRadio
next Thursday. He will be in Bourbonnais, but I don't know yet if the interview will
be live or recorded shortly before "BearsTalk" goes on the air.
