That was timing. Romo was the flavor of the month because he got a late 
start. He was awesome the first five or six games, then started to tail off 
and was just beginning to come back into his own as the season ended. He 
didn't fly as high or fall as hard as Rex, but when the votes were coming 
in, he was on the upswing.

Could have just as easily gone the opposite way.
