The Bears brought CB Alan Zemaitis in for a look Thursday morning at
Halas Hall, but it doesn't look like the former All-American from Penn
State will be signed.


Zemaitis was a fourth-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in
2006, but didn't play as a rookie as a shoulder injury that lingered
from college kept him out.

He was waived in Tampa Bay at the final cutdown in September. Zemaitis
was considered a good fit for the cover-two scheme when he was coming
out school because he possesses good size at 6-2, 202 pounds, but it
hasn't worked out for him in the NFL yet.

Zemaitis would have been eligible to join the practice squad. The Bears
have two open positions, but at this point it looks like they will not
be filled with just one more practice and a walk-through before the
final game.
