I have said this before (post-SB) that we also need to consider a WR,
someone to challange or replace Moose. Obviously it would have to be a
veteran and right now I'm at a loss for who might be available.

If not we'll have the same problem as last year, we have no "go-to" guy.
Moose has been good but less than spectacular as the designated #1, and
while Berrian was a pleasant surprise I don't think he's the type of guy
who can be the "go-to" guy and catch 70-80 balls per season. Bradley has
a ton of talent but still raw, and Davis has been great in the clutch
but I think the slot suits him best. I suppose a stud TE could fill this
role as you suggest, similar to Antonio Gates in SD (their WR corp is
worse than ours) but who could possibly be available??

A persistent refrain of Hub Arkush--someone whose opinion I respect a great deal--was that the Bears' WR corps is not 'special' (at least yet) and we need another weapon on offense in general. Rex could be that weapon next year, IMO, but I am concerned that we will lose Jones (a hit to our offense, unless Cedric rushes for 1,500 yds) and could use a genuine match-up threat at TE. I think Clark is a good TE who blocks extremely well but we need a Shockey-type TE to exploit fully the kind of offense we run (or ought to run). Imagine a dominant TE who routinely blows away opposing LBs 15-20 yds down field. Had that been the reality this year, we would have had a Super Bowl ring.
