In fairness, Jerry, this has often been the case with the Bears' version of
the Tampa 2. It bends but does not break to give up points. Giving up only
10 points is, frankly, a bright spot I had not stopped to recognize. The
rest of the game looked so dismal, it was easy to overlook.

I am still challenging myself not to lose perspective. We did not look good
in the pre-season and then came out and destroyed everyone. When we lost
games, we often came out very strong and very motivated the following game.
Rex has looked this bad before, only to come back and put together solid to
great performances. This team, like the QB that leads it, seems to need
reality checks. And here's one more part of the reality: the running game
looks very, very good.

All of these bode well for a Bears rebound in the playoffs. After all, they
do recognize that it is one loss and out at this point. If this game does
not put the fear of God into them about how bad they can be, nothing will.
