Only thing is, he'll make just as much as he did with 'Phins and with a
comparable level of pressure to win. My theory is, then, that his ego could
not fit in the same room with pro players' egos and so he wanted back into
his old stomping ground, where he could wield uncontested power over his
players. As a college coach, he has no pro egos or free agency to deal
with. And he has the huge carrot of a young player's destiny in the
pros--he can make or break their future careers. Saban spins this as he
longs to be back, teaching and molding young players. Read between the
lines: he could not stand the 'unteachability' of the pro player.
