OK, Football Outsiders has a free beta of their data splits going on right now at http://www.footballoutsiders.com/premium/beta/

It would help to have an understanding of the metrics but isn't essential since they include rankings.

The Bears offense is bad on first and third down but slightly better than average on second down. There's no real difference on yards to go except that the Bears are actuall pretty good on third and long and absolutely abysmal in third and medium distance.

The Bears defense is average on first down and third and short but exceptional on every other down and distance.

The Bears are not very good at defending passes in the red zone - ranked 24th.

The Bears offense is slighly below average through the first three quarters but is just awful in the fourth. However, they are average when they're within 8 points in the second half.

The Bears defense is, again, exceptional in all quarters and really shines in the middle.
