Well, the Bears did offer to not tag him if he signed the tender. But he
rejected that idea so I would suspect that JA will not give that offer
again.

I saw this comment. I can't remember exactly how he put it but Rosenhaus
hinted that a deal could get done if the Bears promised not to franchise
Briggs next year. He didn't exactly say it but made it sound like this was
something that hadn't been discussed - i.e. a concession that he could get
from the Bears to get Briggs into camp and at the same time save face. This
tells me two things:
1) Since the Bears have already informally offered to do this, there will
be no problem on their end.
2) Rosenhaus is advising Briggs to sign the deal and take the darned money.
That means that he, at least, is sane and he, at least, wants to get paid.
This gives me some hope that Briggs will see reason and play some ball this
year.
