You know, it's been so long ago, and so few opportunities to really see what
he was able to do under pressure early in his career, that I just can't
remember exactly how good he was early on, one way or another....
But the one play I do remember, and I know one play does not a trend
make, was the play against Minny where he blew out his knee whilst
scrambling for the TD. I remember being impressed of that play and what a
damn shame it was that he was hurt on such a great effort.
If I had to make a comment on his scrambling ability from that impression,
I'd have to say that he was indeed, a better scrambler than he is now and
that he's become much more tentative since his injuries. I think he just
needs to regain the confidence of being able to move and take a hit without
getting hurt. How quickly he does that is any one's guess, or even whether
he's able to come all the way back. But if he does, we're going to win the
Superbowl.
