I disagree. The Colts dominated the line of scrimmage in that game. I
wrote a whole blog entry on it. 90% of the time the team that wins is the
team that does this. IMO blaming Grossman is just taking the easy shots
that just scratch the surface of the problem.
I don't like being the bad guy here but there's not much doubt in my mind as
to who the better team on that field was with or without Grossman. You talk
about Grossman's INTs and fall downs and fumbles but what about the other
90% of the plays? With few exceptions the Bears didn't run, they didn't
pass, they didn't move the ball. Period. If you watch, you'll see that it
came down to what was happening on the LOS on those plays. The defense was
on the field the whole game.
With the exception of the times when both special teams were on the field,
the Colts were just better - the whole team in every aspect of the game, not
just the QB. Looking back on it, once they started kicking away from
Hester, that game was over and having Brown and Harris wouldn't have shifted
the balance anywhere near enough. I'm sorry but that's the way I see it.
