[CBFF] ESPN - Harris' return a shot in the arm for Bears' D

Hey Tom, don't be sorry... if everyone was sorry about their opinion, this
would be one sorry place... ;-)
You're point is valid regarding the LOS, and that is why Harris would have
*made* a difference, IMO. Harris would have required a double team, and he
still would have made plays, while taking pressure off the rest of the line
and linebackers, who would have made more plays. Would it have shifted the
balance, who knows... but it sure would have changed up the way they were
pushing us around on defense out there, IMHO. Brown would have tightened up
the D-backfield and would have also made a positive difference... how much??
again, who knows..
I think one of the biggest reasons we were so ineffective on offense was the
lack of imagination from our off. coord. Nothing to our TE until it was too
late. A mark of a good coord. is to continue to try everything in the bag
until you find what works... ours did not do that, at least for that
particular game he did not.
Personally, I believe the game was winnable. Other than the slips by
Grossman, I thought he made only one glaring mistake with one of the INT's.
Better and more imaginative play calling, Harris and Brown back in the
line-up.. I think we would have evened up the contest considerably.
If we stay healthy, and with another year of improvement by Rex, with Hester
in the line-up, with a blue chip TE in the fold, with brown and Harris
back... Damn, I'm excited for this season....
Go Bears!!
