You've been to jail? You've been arrested for gun violations? You've been
out partying and involved in a shooting where your friend died *right
afterwards*? You've been threatened with losing your job if you screw up
even one more time?
My opinion might not be yours but it is certainly not ridiculous. This was
incredibly stupid given the circumstances. For heaven's sake even at 25 I'd
have been walking on egg shells. And it isn't like it September when maybe
the fear starts to wear off. It's June! We're only talking about a couple
months, here. This, especially with the shooting incident right after the
gun violations, just reinforces that perception that the guy doesn't get it.
Like Jerry, even if there's no blood alcohol I'm sure the Bears are fuming.
Like David Haugh, I think Lovie Smith put himself on the line here. Now
he's got to go all the way on punishment or he's going to be seen among the
players and by the rest of the league as an enabler. I couldn't agree more
with the whole article.
