There is usually a conduct detrimental to the team clause in a standard NFL
contract which could give them the opportunity to recover it if they choose
to go after it. Even though those are huge numbers for the rest of us, my
guess is it wouldn't be worth the legal battle to try to recover it especially
since it may be trying to get blood out of a turnip i.e. my guess he has 
very little in liquid assets to repay the team, so it would really end up
being more of a political statement to anyone else who decides to be as 
stupid as Tank.
