I also think you are over stating Briggs value. While a rookie might not
be able to play at a pro bowl level, anyone with any talent will be able
to play at a high level, with #54 playing alongside.
But if Briggs comes back, look for Okwo or Williams to replace Hunter at
some point.

Well, Mark Anderson wasn't making an impact from day one and he was only
a situation pass rusher - that's about the easiest transition to make,
"go get the QB." Harris replaced Mike Green, who sucked, and then was
replaced by Daniel Manning and IIRC, they put Johnson in before they got
Harris on the field last year.
Yes, Okwo can start and he may be decent, but he can't replace Briggs.
He is not a Pro Bowler. We can't even be sure he'll do as well as Hunter
H. Think about it, when was the last time you heard of a 3rd or later
pick beating out an established vet with no injuries involved? It's not
common and we're kidding ourselves if we think that Okwo is one of the
five best OLBs in the leage like Briggs is.
I'm just saying we shouldn't all jump on the Okwo wagon. He might not
beat out Jamar Williams for one. I'm going to hope that he doesn't screw
up if he's the starter and that Urlacher, the D-line and the safeties
make up for the diminished talent.

Tell that to Mark Anderson. And Chris Harris, who seemed to hit his peak
as
a rookie.
