[CBFF] Incites | A McNabb trade (in theory)

Cant say I disagree, mac. I'd take McNabb in a heartbeat right now. But if
the work that Pep has done on Rex this offseason really gets his mechanics
down, I could be changing my tune early in the season. But as of right now,
McNabb has put up bigger and better numbers with really only 1 year of TO as
a stud WR. The rest of the time, he really hasn't had real big names at WR.

But it wont happen anyways. :)

We don't magically expect Danieal Manning to be the best safety on the team
- or any other player to fix all of his problems in the offseason. Players
usually have incremental increases not giant jumps.

Moose is a year older and Olson probably won't see the field much. Devin
Hester couldn't earn the position in college. Cedric Benson couldn't wrest
the job away from that better talent the last two years.

Which plays the NFC East and AFC West this year.

Has there been an off-season where he couldn't play?

Why McNabb will struggle:
>-Older.
He's only 30 - younger than Manning by a few months.

>-Coming off a serious knee injury. Not good for a "scrambling" QB.
He's rushed, 41, 25 and 32 times the past three seasons. He's also passed
for 7029 yards in his past 34 games.

>-Offense lost some key players, such as Dante Stallworth (sp?)
So you're talking about McNabb on the Eagles being worse than Grossman on
the Bears? I'm not sure how that's relevant but Bryant Westbrook and Reggie
Brown are still there and they picked up Kevin Curtis.

>-McNabb plays in the NFC East.
Who play the NFC North this year.

Anyway, that was more devil's advocate than anything but I think McNabb is
better than Grossman. I don't see how you could think otherwise. Grossman as
potential is great, but that potential has to become reality if he's going
to be better than McNabb. McNabb might be a risk with his injury but it's
not due to his scrambling it's because it's starting to look like he's
injury prone. However, that's how we all thought of Grossman and he made it
through the season. The Bears won't do it, but I think the trade would make
a lot of sense.
