Bears sign another draft pick

The Bears Wednesday signed seventh-round draft pick Aaron Brant to a
four-year contract.

The 6-7, 320-pound tackle out of Iowa State is the fifth of nine
players chosen by the Bears in this year's draft to sign. Terms were
not disclosed.

Brant earned all-Big 12 honorable mention from the league's coaches in
2005 and 2006. He started 46 games during his four years with the
Cyclones, the first 10 at guard before shifting to tackle for the
final 36 games of his career.

Brant joins fellow seventh-rounder Trumaine McBride (No. 221) along
with third-round pick Garrett Wolfe (No. 93) and fifth-round
selections Kevin Payne (No. 167) and Corey Graham (No. 168) as signed
draft picks. The Bears four draft choices yet to sign are first-round
selection Greg Olsen (No. 31), second-rounder Dan Bazuin (No. 62),
third-rounder Michael Okwo (No. 94) and fourth-round pick Josh Beekman
(No. 130).
