[CBFF] Week 9 thoughts about rivals

It amazes me how a team can be #1 in the redzone but blow outside of that.
Why not just play that tough all the time? I hate bend but don't break
defenses. I want a shut down defense all the time...not just when the other
team has drove 60 yards and ate up 4 minutes.

I have to disagree, Chris. Hanging 44 points on any team doesn't
entirely by luck. They've got some potency on offense and they showed
it yesterday.

Now, going week 8, the Bears were ranked #30 in yards given-up, but #1
in redzone defense; the ultimate "rubber band" D. And that's what it
took to limit the Lions to 16 points, so obviously the Bears still
have some bite and the Lions still have some growing to do. But that
aside, if the discover your vulnerabilities, they'll make ya pay.

As for their special teams being awful. I don't know much about their
return game or punting, but Jason Hanson is anything but awful. In
fact, he's pretty damn good, IMHO.

that's not going to last. They might make the playoffs because the NFC is
weak and they already have six wins (although Minn. has been there a few
times and missed) but when they play one of the better NFC teams they won't
look as good.
