I hold Angelo responsible for the personnel issues. He has to compromise
with Smith but in the final analysis, these are all his call, something he
made sure of in the Dick Jauron era. I don't think anyone deserves it yet
but if you are going to fire anyone, it should be him. He's the one making
the same mistakes over and over again.
Some of the coaching issues I can't judge but I totally agree with the ones
like the soft training camp and moving Manning around. I'd love to know who
the shockingly bad coaches he hired were. In any case, there's no doubt
that mistakes were made but at least in Smith's case they are mostly being
made for the first time. What Smith does about them, especially next year
when he's starting relatively fresh, probably should determine his job
status.
