Game planning. Pure and simple as that. Game planning. Right now, I
believe that's been the biggest problem with the Bears... that and the
O-line. But one would go a long way towards helping the other, that being a
good game plan could alleviate alot of the stress the line is under.
Including our above average TE's in the game plan... *AND STAYING WITH THEM*
has proven to be our most effective offensive weapon for winning games
IMHO. All to often, after a couple successful TE completions for a few 1st
downs or a TD drive, we never hear their numbers called again.
If the Bears are going to stick with Rex, you know the opponents are
changing their defensive game plans as I type this, into one of blitz,
blitz, blitz.. with a little blitzing on the side... and up the middle.. and
on the other side. Turner has got to see the light and get the ball to the
TE, as well as some dumps and screen passes to the Backs. And don't take
away Rex's bread and butter, either. Let him continue to test the deep ball
with Berrian and Hester out there. We have no running game, so let's turn
Rex loose, keep Benson in to block (or bench him for the rest of the year if
he can't or won't block), and let's win the next game.
If Turner continues in his stubborn ways of not sticking with what works
just for spite's sake, I swear I'll climb thru that TV screen myself and
kick his ass from side of the field to the other. The mark of a good OC is
to use what you have the most effective way... not to continually beat your
head against a brick wall and wonder why your bleeding all over the place.
Last chance Turner to figure it out. I have my doubts, but I'd be up for a
pleasant surprise....
GO BEARS!!
