He was a first round draft pick, he's 19-7 as a starter, he was NFL's player
of the *month* last year, he had many more good games than bad last year, he
QB'd the team to the SB with decent games vs the Saints and Seattle in the
playoffs, and he's only playing in his second full year as a starting
QB. And finally, I feel Rex is the only guy on the roster that I feel has a
chance to get the Bears to the playoffs, period. I think the team also
feels that way. Those are some of the reasons I think Rex should play out
the season.
Personally, I don't think Rex can do anything short of winning the SB for
most of the Rex bashers out there to shut up.. and even then, that's all
they'd do really, is bite their tongue, ready to pounce if he has a bad game
again. All the guy did was come off the bench, do what was asked of him
(win a game) and for that, he's back on the media's and fan's shit list.
I'd venture to say most of the anti-Rex crowd would have rather have seen
the Bears lose with Rex back behind center if it meant keeping on the
bench. Amazing. Truly.
