OK, I agree that Grossman probably wouldn't have done better, but the comparison you tried to make is really wrong. There's a substantive difference between the Lions and the Cowboys first and foremost. You could look up Rex's stats from last year against the Lions - it still wouldn't be a good comparison but it would be better. Let's just leave it as, they both played bad and we should spend our time inventing a curse for Bears QBs to make ourselves feel a little better about the complete lack of a good one since Luckman.

As far as I can make the case, I can't argue anything better than Grossman
wouldn't have been worse.  Griese was 34/52 with 2TDs and 3INTs.  Grossman
the week before was 15 of 32 with 0 TD and 3INT.  Grossman extraploted up to
52 passes gives us 24/52 with 0 TD and 5 INT.  Grossman's passer rating was
in the thirties.  Griese's was 65 in a game where I really thought the rest
of the team actually played worse albeit against a worse team.  I'm not a
stats guy but Grossman's definitely aren't better.

You can argue it.  But I really can't.
