Wow, kinda surprised at the responses to this play. As if football was
*only* abot who could slober-knock the other opponent into submission
with off-tackle dive plays.

It aint. Offensive Football has *always* been about deception;
counters, reverses, fumblerooskies,flee-flickers, hook and ldadder,
the fake pass to stop the clock, a rec'r pretending to exit the
playing field only stand next to the sideline and run a rout
uncontested, etc, etc, etc.  These plays take you to the rich history
of the past where players weren't afforded the luxury of the armor
plating players wear these days.  They had to be creative in there
play-calling to keep a healthy team on the field all season.

I'll guarantee any of those teams would have used that play had they
thought of it first.

Hey, if a linebacker sniffs it out and clocks the guy, so be it...
until then, better play a little more allert defense if you ask me.
