[CBFF] Lovie's Decided

Here's what I'd say about that (maybe I've said it already... can't
remember); Favre had similar type setbacks in his early years (maybe the
lows were not quite as bad, but maybe the highs weren't quite as good)....
but what the Packers did was let Favre be Farve... It was a gamble, but it
worked out. They let the gun slinger sling 'em downfield, and eventually
*HE* figured out what he was doing wrong and corrected it while still
perfecting, and gaining confidence in his downfield throwing ability.

I think the Bears, for whatever reason (probably because all of the rest of
the pieces were in place - defense, special teams, and he was also late to
the game because of injuries) felt that they had to "fix" Rex in a big
hurry. And some things you can't fix in a hurry. I think if the same
thing had been done to Favre, he wouldn't be nearly the QB he turned out to
be. It took him 2 or 3 season before he figured it out. Too bad the Bears
(and the media, and the fans) couldn't have been a little more patient with
Rex.

Maybe it's just time for him to sit and absorb, sign a contract that
reflects his progress to date, and fight for a starting job next year if he
doesn't get another chance this year.
