[CBFF] Afraid of the Lions! (shudder)

I haven't said that for a LONG time, but with our current injury situation and
lack of production on offense, this could be a blow out (especially if you
look at worst case which I can't seem to avoid thinking about):
Defense:
IR: Brown, Dvoracek
OUT: Tillman, Vasher, Harris
UNKNOWN: Briggs, Ogunleye, Archuleta
Now I know there is talk about how deep our 53 man roster is, but take
8 starters (including 5(6?) former pro bowlers) off of any team and you are
going to be very vulnerable. Especially with Detroit being a primarily
passing team this year.
Offense:
UNKNOWN: Miller, Brown, Peterson
Obviously our offense hasn't been to impressive this year and I have to
believe that the starting offensive linemen are better than their backups,
so this will no help.
GAME OUTLOOK:
I don't think Detroit is a very good team, but I expect we will be an average
to below average defense this week which will be VERY vulnerable to their
passing attack. Our best hope on defense will be to get a lot of pressure
from the front line to minimize our DBs exposure. This will likely have to
include lots of blitzing to maintain pressure (and hopefully knock Kitna silly
so we can face JT O'Sullivan or Orlovsky).
Offense is going to have to find a way to score points to win this game as
we will not be able to keep Detroit out of the endzone like we have grown to
expect out of the D. I expect we will need to score at least 28 points to
win this game and that is if the defense plays well as a unit with the backups
in place. If thing went the wrong way with the defense and Detroit was trying
to score points (rather than running out the clock with a big lead), I could
easily see them scoring more than 40 this game.
Hopefully, I am just being grim, but this is not going to be a pretty game and
if we don't win this one, GB afterward could be a real slaughter.
