who reportedly were willing to part with backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels
in exchange for a second-round draft pick, are now saying that Sage won't be
leaving <http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1487>.

And so the Vikings moving on to plan B (or maybe it's plan H or I).  Per the
*Minneapolis Star Tribune*, the Vikings are close to signing Gus
Frerotte<http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1488>to back up
starter Tarvaris Jackson.

Frerotte spent a couple of years with the Vikings (then again, he's spent
time with *plenty* of teams).  He was cut earlier this year.

Last month, Frerotte visited the Vikings and the Packers.
