While opening and closing the season on the road isn't the greatest, let's take a look....
Two road games...
Indy is almost impossible to beat at home, but no better time to play them, when
our defense will be at it's healthiest. A lot of guys should be playing with huge chips
on their shoulder's:
Brown
Harris
Dvoracek
Vasher
Urlacher
Carolina up next: Don't know enough to comment. They had almost as much a
disappointing season as Chicago last year.
Home opener: Tampa... wish we were playing them in December... Should the Bears
start 2-0, this could be a real special year. The Bears are 3-0 in Home openers all
time against Tampa including the 1985 season.
At home against the Eagles. Another night game already.
Starting quick is always important and the Bears need to reverse last years 1-3 start.
At 3-1, they would have momentum headed into another two games on the road.
Then the Bears play three straight home games to start a string of 6 home games in a
nine game stretch, before closing out the season at Houston in a non-conference game.
While I can't understand why the last game of the year isn't a division game, the
schedule allows Chicago time to rest starters in that game if they can close out home
field advantage, or a division title after finishing their conference schedule the week before
in a Monday night contest with Green Bay.
I love the fact every Sunday afternoon game is a Noon start.
We don't play a divisional game until week 5. We will know what the season looks
like before a division game is played....
Six home games in the final 10 is big IMO, assuming they build some momentum
despite playing 4 of the first six games on the road.
Jerry is right. No team on the schedule scares me, yet there are no Oakland's, Miami's
or San Fran's on the schedule either.
Could be a fun year.
