Choosing LSU strong safety Craig Steltz helps the Bears on two fronts: 
It shores up depth at the position that remains iffy with Mike Brown's 
status and Adam Archuleta's inconsistency. The Bears won't say it 
publicly but drafting a strong safety who, in many ways is similar to 
Archuleta, increases the pressure on Archuleta. Also, Steltz is a 
high-energy guy who is able to help immediately on special teams and 
comes from one of the country's top programs. The Bears still need a 
quarterback but this choice makes sense for them in this need-based draft.
